“You never listen!” “Are you even listening to me?”
Are these phrases what you find yourself saying every day as a parent? Even though it’s clear that you have your child’s best interests at heart, sometimes it can be hard to stay calm and communicate effectively. To break this communication deadlock, it’s important to first learn how to regulate your emotions and then use conversation techniques to gently guide your child to open up and speak from the heart!
This parenting workshop welcomes teacher Poon Po Wan (Ms. Po Wan) to guide parents on “Communication Skills and Techniques for Parents”. Say goodbye to shouting and hello to rebuilding trust and a strong parent-child relationship, helping your child navigate the challenges of growing up and stay away from the lure of drugs.

1. How to establish a positive foundation for parent-child communication
2. How to avoid the mindset traps of jumping to suggestions and criticism
3. How to practice the four key elements of “active listening”
4. How to use conversation and emotion reflection techniques to guide your child to express their true feelings
